I've looked and looked for the answer here, but i'm either just not
seeing it, or it's not here. In version 7.97, there is a
timestamp on the RTE message box by default. I want to get rid of
it. Anyone know anything about it or can point me in the right
direction?

The only reason why it is used is that some browsers cache the RTE area.
The time stamp is a simple why to create a unique querystring so that browsers will always load a fresh window and not use a cached copy that can course issues.

Is there any way to hide or change it's location so that it's not visible that won't cause errors?

The only place you should see if is within the HTML source code, so it shouldn't be an issue as users shouldn't ever see or notice it.

It shows up using firefox. Also, there's an unexplained error
where the link to the CSS inside the skin_file.asp gets posted as
well. I'll post about it in a seperate topic if i can't figure it
out. It only happens on some people's browsers namely IE.
Here, see for yourself. http://www.w3tech.net/pug/forum - Link

I have had a look at your forum and the time stamp is not from what I mentioned earlier.
It seems that you have modified web Wiz Forums to display a time stamp at the top of all pages within the forum (or at least it says '1:14 PM 1/21/2006' at the top of every page).
The RTE area uses an IFrame to show an editable page.
Because of the modification you have made to display '1:14 PM 1/21/2006' on every page, it is also showing up within the RTE's editable iframe page.

Actually, the only code i've modified is the skin file and the images. it's probably something my host is doing.

Fixed --Sorry to bug you, but it was an error on my part in the skin_file.asp--
Now, i just have to fix that bug with the posting of the cascading style sheet link. Thanks.
