Hi, maybe this has been asked hundred times, i don't know and i may be stupid but my problem is; running on localhost=fine, running on payedhost=gives me this error, maybe i sould look deeper into common.asp?
(Compact Database)
1. Database backed up to:-
x:/y/WwForum-backup.mdb
2. New compacted database:-
x:/y/WwForum-tmp.mdb
Microsoft VBScript runtime error '800a0046'

/z/admin/compact_access_db.asp, line 136
and on payedhost it creates a locked file > wwforum.ldb in the same directory as wwforum.mdb, that file isn't on localhost.. the file contains just two words = "hostname" Admin
i'm (running 7.92 and access)

It could be that your host has disabled being able to compact Access databases using the JET4 database driver.
Lock files are always created when Access is accessed so that two users don't update the file at the same time, however, on your PC you are probably hiding hidden files and system files so you just never see it.
