1. Make it possible for a user to "see" the contents of their uploads folder.
I recently started allowing my users to upload pictures to their posts. It is working well, however, it would be nice if the user would be able to go to their own profile editing and be able to look inside their own folder to see what they have put in there.
Advantages:
1. Users are less likely to upload the same items more than once.
2. They would also be able to identify the location of their files for cross posting on other boards, which would increase the hits on your site for search engine status. The more links to other sites the better for your ranking.
2. Time and Date set up
Allow admin to set time and date for all users in the admin section. We can change indivual time set in each profile, but I would prefer to set it globally. My server is located in a different time zone than the targeted area that participates in my forum. I would like my forum to reflect the time in my zone, not the servers.
3. Allow users more options in setting up their profiles
More space to work with when adding their hobbies and interests, and a place to add a photo or two if they so desire.
I believe this will make the end users/members feel more at "home" and more a part of the "community" you have created.
Thanks for your consideration on these suggestions and all your hard work! You've done a great job on this forum and I would never even consider using another one!

I started a new topic because I didn't want to go through 58 pages of suggestions, to see if these have already been made.
Please forgive the duplicate suggestions if they have already been made.

Thnaks susan, I actually locked the suggestion Topic at the end of last week as an official cut off point in development so that version 8 can be finished and released, otherwise it would never get finished as there is always something else that can be added.
However, your suggestions will be looked at for future versions.

Great! I can't wait for the completed version to be released. I'm still using the 7.97 errrr whatever it is. I like it, but I am looking forward to the new one.

Also, your point number 1, although not quite the same, an image browser is available in version 8, that allows the user to see images other users have uploaded to the server when inserting an image in their post.

Just so you know, when I went to put the link in for that image there was a whole bunch of something in the box of the popup, not sure what it was, but it wasn't English.

Do you mean?
Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetuer adipiscing
elit. Maecenas interdum nulla ut arcu varius ornare. Duis neque nulla,
porttitor in, interdum nec, tempor nec, erat. Integer wisi erat,
consequat at, sagittis et, tristique lacinia, ipsum. Lorem ipsum dolor
sit amet, consectetuer adipiscing elit. Maecenas interdum nulla ut arcu
varius ornare. Duis neque nulla, porttitor in, interdum nec, tempor
nec, erat. Integer wisi erat, consequat at, sagittis et, tristique
lacinia, ipsum. Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetuer adipiscing

That is actually Latin and is used as a standard text instead of saying 'blar, blar, blar, blar'
If you do a search on Google millions of sites use this text as a general example for things like text placement.
It is use in the RTE in the image preview window so that when you choose an alignment for your image you can see how alignment looks within text.

If you look at the source code for the RSS it is actually XML.
What I have done is created an online viewer using an XLST stylesheet so you don't just see a load of XML source code in your browser.
How RSS works is browsers with RSS support like IE7, Firefox, Safari, etc. allow you to add live RSS bookmarks to them. When you click on these live bookmarks they get the feed from the site and display a list of the last 10 posts as book marks.
You can also get RSS News Aggerator software, like www.feedDemon.com or an add-on for Outlook, etc.
This type of software allows you to have a list of RSS Feeds you have joined, they then take the live RSS Feed from the site to display current news items, of in this case latest posts within Web Wiz Forums.
You can also use the RSS XML Feed to syndicate the feed to other sites or other pages within your site so you can display the latest posts on other pages or even other sites.
RSS is quite an important syndication tool and is really starting to take off, if you do a search on Google you will find loads on it.
By the way RSS stands for Really Simple Syndication.
