Hey all...
ran a webwiz forum for about a year...sold it....then bought it back a week or so ago....always liked the beatles!

But now, when I get a new user, or when I post a message, I get that server error...

Internal Server Error

The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request.

Please contact the server administrator, and inform them of the time the error occurred and anything you might have done that may have caused the error.

More information about this error may be available in the server error log.

Can someone point me at the 'fix' for this? I believe my perms are all correct..so what else could it be?

It's sounds like detailed error messaging has been disabled on the server which really does help things.

But if as you say this happens when posting a message and the message is posted anyway, the normal course of this problem is incorrect email settings.

Check with your host the correct email settings, then setup the email settings for the forum in the admin area.

I may have spoken too soon...

I just tried to send a Mass email, to the Admin group only which is just me, and I getthis error...

     error '8004020f'

     /admin/functions/functions_send_mail.asp, line 137

WHen I look at that ASP page, it has trouble handling this line...

     'Send the e-mail
If NOT strOutgoingMailServer = "" Then .Send

in the CDOSYS Email COmponent area...

So maybe my email's NOT right?? Anyone here know what to do?

Finally, I got the http friendly errors turned off and yup here's the error --

error '8004020f'

/functions/functions_send_mail.asp, line 137

So, what can anyone tell me about fixing this? It's supposed to be CDOSYS, and I've made that teensy change in the Config email area but it's NOT WORKING....

Further, I'm using MailEnable PRO on my own server and it acts as it's own SMTP server, ie I'm not using the MS one in IIS6. Does that matter?

???

It should work with MailEnable Pro as I use it myself, although I use IIS's SMTP server for scripts to send emails, then have MailEnable Pro, both installed locally, to relay the email on.

If you run the server yourself, try installing JMail on the server and using that, it maybe a quicker fix for your problem.
