I had this specfic computer which is pretty good in configuration however the system was not that responsive compared to its configuration and would act jerky..i tried sevral things but little it improved.. but today i went into the BIOS and increased the clock speed by 2Mhz... and ohh boy the system has come back to its life.. very responsive and stable..like a champ

well this is not the first time it has happend to me.. i have often fixed stability problems in assembled system by pumping up the FSB by few Mhz..well i guess component in assembled systems are not soo tightly integrated with each other an voltage irregularities can take place.. so u just got to fix it by pumping up the FSB by few Mhz Big smile

...You may be able to pump up the fsb's higher if you have a good cooling system.

well its not only CPU which needs to be cooled.. there are hell lotta other things like the SB and NB, Memory DIMM's , voltage regulators.. blah blah blah.. motherboards made these days are soo poorly refined when it comes to cooling...most of them dont even have a fan for chipset. Even tho the manufacturer claims they are designed for fanless operations.. i dont think that anything which is hot enough to hurt when touched can provide efficient operation in the world of semiconductors..

anyway..if i can shove the whole PC in deepfreezer.. then i can sure clock the hell out of it.. of just go buy a faster one and save urself the hassleLOL

...you know, a small office fridge wouldn't be a bad idea. I would even consider putting a small beer keg in there with a tap sticking out the top.

BRILLIANT!!!

I can't believe that such a namby-pamby so called "solution" like that came out of your mouth!

Now, try this video for a http://www.tomshardware.com/cgi-bin/downloads.m?id=11 - REAL MAN'S Cooling Solution ! (May require email submission to weed out pansies and wimps.) Wink (Ed.: Or you can http://www4.tomshardware.com/images/thg_video_11_5ghz.zip - try here .)
