Subject: Javascript Code and Alt Image
Date Posted: 19 March 2006 at 6:08am

I have some javascript code for a slideshow I'm using on my web site.

Here's the code:

//Define slideshow contents: [image URL, OPTIONAL LINK, OPTIONAL LINK TARGET]
slideshowcontent[0]=["Lake&Mountains.jpg","", "", alt="Lake Junaluska"]

The alt code doesn't work at all. How do I fix this code to make it to show Lake Junaluska when someone puts their mouse over the picture?

We would have to see the actual JS function doing the slideshow work to determine that.

var slideshowcontent=new Array()
//Define slideshow contents: [image URL, OPTIONAL LINK, OPTIONAL LINK TARGET]
slideshowcontent[0]=["Lake&Mountains.jpg","", "", alt="Lake Junaluska"]
slideshowcontent[1]=["MillHouse.jpg", "", ""]
slideshowcontent[2]=["FlowersatHCC.jpg", "", ""]
slideshowcontent[3]=["Boats.jpg", "", ""]
slideshowcontent[4]=["Mountains.jpg", "", ""]

the red bit is wrong

should be more like this:

slideshowcontent[0]=["Lake&Mountains.jpg","", "", "alt=\"Lake Junaluska\""]

though, the javascript i dont think allows for alt tags, so might be best doing:

slideshowcontent[0]=["Lake&Mountains.jpg\" alt=\"Lake Junaluska\"","", ""]

am not an expert with javascripts, but its worth a try

*edit*

just for id say that the \ will cancel out the ", meaning it wont end the string there, so it will be part of the image tag
its like adding double quotes in ASP
