Is it allowed to have a block of keywords, IE

"The best site on the Internet for 1, 2, 3... x"

As long as all the keywords are relevant?  Or is just any form of keyword spamming banned by Google?

I had a block of keywords which actually brought in a large amount of visitors, but took it off for fear of being blocked.

Just ask yourself, "Am I trying to be devious?" It it fits the site - keep it. If it's trying to spam - ditch it. If it read unnaturally - ditch it. Keep your copy readable for humans. The search engines love that.

And yes - there are black-hat things you can do that work, but it's easier to just be honest and do things right. The spammer side of the force is just dumb. You need to run a lot of sites for spam to work right. It's just not worth the effort.
