Subject: cannot upload images

I just installed v8 RC1 on my site.  I set the image upload component to ASPUpload (which is supposed to be installed on the server but I have not tested it before).

The forums are working fine as far as I can tell, but I cannot upload an image.  When I click on the "Insert Image" button I get a form that will allow me to link in an image that already exists on the internet, but not one that I have on my local machine and want to upload.

Here is a screen shot of the pop-up window I get:

Am I doing something wrong?  Have I forgotten to enable something in the admin area?  I figure it's something I've overlooked, but I'm not sure what it is.

Thanks,
Tracy

You need to set permissions on the forum for which member groups you want to allow uploading.

You can do this through the Group Permissions page in the admin area

I have successfully upgraded (test server)  from 7.+ using tools provided with no problems.  Everything is great but I have similar problems with uploading files.

Firstly for some reason the 'insert image' and 'File upload' buttons in the post forms do not work in IE 6 +.  (No response other than IE 6 gives display  'error on page message' line 159 object expected on both post and edit forms)
Using Firefox (only tested using ASPupload) the upload window appears but it causes the page and the instance of Firefox to hang.

The RTE option is enabled, the forum upload permissions are correct, the folder permissions on the webserver are also correct.

I have tried this feature using ASPupload, Dundas, and ASPsmartUpload and have checked the configuration settings but am now stummped.

I shall do some tests over the weekend and see if I can find the issue.

Thanks!  That was it!

I knew it had to be something simple that I was overlooking.

Thanks for that.  I am uploading the whole thing to the remote server to eliminate local/network server issues and will advise accordingly.  The entire site is in development so there are no working forum issues.
