At my site http://www.sheykhobeyd.info - www.sheykhobeyd.info people can either register or enter as a guest, which is pretty typical. If they register, a cookie is placed on their PC so that when they come back they bypass the sign-in page. Also typical.

When they return and then visit the forum, they need to register on the forum. this has created some frustration for registered members. Is there a way for registered members at my site to automatically be registered as Forum members? Can the forum use the cookie that is already placed or is there another solution?
