ok i can understand that windows xp is a consumer os and therefore makes sense of fancy animated setup screen constantly repeading the godliness of windows xp..but whats the use of fancy animated setup screen in windows 2003, a server OS?? cant they ditch all the setup graphics in favour of saving memory and speeding up the setup????? sometimes things are totally out of logic!! ------------- http://www.web2messenger.com/theboss">

I think you just have to complain about something each new day :). It is actually good practice to have moving images on a long running process. Most people may walk away during setup but some stay and wait until its done. Seeing "something happening" besides a progress bar puts them at ease. You got to make your stuff look good, or no one will buy it. It doesn't really matter what you're selling, the better it looks the more likely people are to like it, and the more likely they will be to purchase it again. Graphics for setup are such a small part of the development, but are hugely important IMO. |

well i was setting up multiple virtual machines with win 2003 ent r2.. and i wished there was an option to comeplete the setup without the fancy animated screen and stuff..

I was joking. No worries.... Actually there is a way to do it without the screen. Either use RIS or create a setup file to do a silent install, there is an option to supress stuff like that. well i am looking for some imaging utilities which create a file based image.. there are some freewares out there who will clone a hard disk on file basis rather than sector basis.. but a cloning utility creating file based images would be cooler.. something coming ahead in the VISTA WIM ------------- http://www.web2messenger.com/theboss">
