on one of my sites, i noticed that my "default.asp" page had a strange problem
it would list forums like this:
Forum Category 1 ---Cat 1, Forum 1
---Cat 1, Forum 2
---Cat 1, Forum 3
---Cat 1, Forum 4
Forum Category 2
---Cat 2, Forum 1
---Cat 2, Forum 2
Forum Category 3
---Cat 3, Forum 1
Forum Category 4
---Cat 4, Forum 1
Forum Category 3
---Cat 3, Forum 2
Forum Category 4
---Cat 4, Forum 2
Forum Category 3
---Cat 3, Forum 3
Forum Category 4
---Cat 4, Forum 3
Forum Category 3
---Cat 3, Forum 4
Forum Category 4
---Cat 4, Forum 4
the admin area listed them fine
anywho i upgraded to the latest V8 beta, and its still doing it untill i noticed in the admin area that category 3 and category 4 are both "Cat Order 3"
changing Cat 4 order to 4 fixs it
not sure if its a problem with my site only (as i had a bad upgrade from V7 - V8 [my fault]) or if its a problem with the site

This problem can happen if the version 7 to version 8 upgrade is not done correctly and multiple permissions are set in the database for the same forum, the upgrade tool has now been fixed to prevent this.
This issue can also happen if the forum admin doesn't correctly set the order of forums and categories.
To address this I have change the admin area so that when new categories and forums are created they are given an order number. However, this won't fix issues if forum admins don't correctly set the order.

I just used the default if it didn't matter (i.e. only set the order if it mattered). Its good to know that I have to set them before the upgrade.
