I migrated from 6 to 7 to 8.

When I logon as a member there and go to Settings->Email Notifications I have a pretty big issue.

For each thread subscription there is a Forum subscription:

Forum Subscription

General
General
General

Thread Subscription

Thread One
Thread Two
Thread Three

From my understanding it should be:

Forum Subscription
-----------------------------
General

Thread Subscription
------------------------
Thread One
Thread Two
Thread Three

In some cases the setting WAS

Forum Subscription
------------------------
<blank>

Thread Subscription
------------------------
Thread One
Thread Two
Thread Three

One of the MAJOR problems is that everyone is now receiving a notification (or three?) every time there is ANY post in the General forum. This is obviously in the not good category.

I'm not sure what is going on with your forum, not sure if it is an upgrade problem with your database, but this is not the way it should work.

You should only be able to subscribe to a forum once, and you should oly every get 1 email notification for each post in a forum or topic you are subscribed to.

Maybe worth deleting all entries in the tblEmailNotify table so that your forum can reset itself.

Just deleted ALL the entries from that table. There were 589 entries for 78 members with a small thread count. Something got messed up big time in the migration.

I took at look at the wwf6db and didn't see a table like that. The wwf7db had a similar table with 728 entries.

It looks like this was a 6 to 7 problem not a 7 to 8 problem.

Issue resolved.

The deletion of the tblEmailNotify table suggestion was EXACTLY what I needed for my situation. I hadn't dug into the db backend enough yet to see that table.

THANK YOU. I only had two members swear at me in the past 24 hours over the issue. It should be all good now!
