I've just updated to V8.01 from 7.92. Everything looks fine apart from a glitch in the topics list from some threads.

The topic starter is wrong on some of the topics but not all. The posts within the topic are all there and the first post is by the correct member but for some reason this is listed wrongly in the topic list. Eg., topic was started by MemberX but it shows as starting by MemberY.

Any ideas of why this might be, or more importantly, how to correct it?

This means that the upgrade has not gone correctly.

If this is happening on allot of topics then go back to your 7.x database and run the upgrade tool again.

If it is on just a few topics then log in as the admin, click on the little The image “http://forums.webwiz.net/forum_images/small_admin_icon.gif” cannot be displayed, because it contains errors. icon and just submit the form, this will then force the function that sets the topics stats to re-run for that topic.

I'm having the same issue.  This will only affect old posts and any new posts should be fine, correct?

Thanks Borg.

I must say, I've upgraded a 500MB forum/DB and it was fairly painless.

Well done, look for some $$ to come your way soon. Clap

Hopefully with that size database you will also see a big performance boost.
