Subject: Backing up SQL database

Hi guys I will sound like a complete NOOB but I want to migrate from 7.x to 8 and before I run the tool I gotta back up the Database. I have a dedicated Win server with shared SQL server. I don't know how I can back up my data before I upgrade. Can anyone help?  |

The way I usually back up an SQL Server database is to install SQL Server on my own PC then use Enterprise Manager to backup the database to my own PC.

Or, if you have a shared SQL Server, check with your host to run an actual backup at a certain time.
