Subject: Unrecognized database

| When opening my Access database (on my computer), it says "Unrecognized database format." I used to be able to open my database before upgrading to version 8. Does anyone know why I can't anymore? Thanks! |

This is the big problem with Access. As Access is a flat office file it's not really up to coping with the amount of read and writes required by forum software, so often becomes corrupted in these circumstances. | Then why do my forums still work? Also, I get the same message when I try to open wwForum.mdb. This file can't be corrupted because it's the fresh one that comes with the version 8 download. |

It could be an issue with the installation of Access on your PC. try reinstalling MS Access again.

Actually, I decided to right click the file & choose "open with." It offers me "Microsoft Access" and "Microsoft Office Access." When choosing the latter, I was able to open the file like before.
