Ok i am archiving few Virtual HD file with WinRar with best compression settings so i can cram all of them in one DVD. However i notice that my Dual Core Pentium 830 CPU isnt as fast as i hoped it would be. Secondly, the CPU hardly ever reaches the 100% load. Because the Intel supplied heat sink is soo crappy, the cpu speed throttle occurs before it reaches the 100% load.. so the max cpu load i have seen so far is around 84%.. very ineffiencient if you ask.. any way the Intel heatsink is tiny..
I have an idential but branded machine using the same chiset and CPU.. however the heat sink on that machine is atleast two pounds in weight with a massive 120MM fan on it..
but still im very dissapointed too..whats the use of all this power if stupid cpu throttling wont let u use it.. i know it saves your cpu from becoming a chernobyl plant but still..waste of money..
Perhaps I should become an AMD beliver tho the only thing which has refrained me from workshiping AMD is the cost and the fact that AMD doesnt not make southbridge chipsets for desktop CPU's. I am not goin to put my faith in a SIS or ATi or what ever third party chipset. AMD costs significantly more than Intel but. But review sites including Toms Hardware state that their dual core and dual CPU solutions are much better than Intel performance wise so may be the extra buck may worth it.
