Ok Mikey..

thanks a lot

that means.. On my ftp server.. there is  a "web folder" consists all the .htm files and images of my site.

So I should upload WWF in that "web folder"... right?????

Is this what u r suggesting????

Yes that's exactly it,
On my server ir's called 'wwwroot' and contains the default files that users access when they type in your domain name.

Upload the forums 'forum' folder into this 'wwwroot' folder.

Thanks a lot Mikey...

I was so confused when I got 3 different user ids an passwords for my site..  since I asked my service provider to activate all the WWF requirments..

I have one more question... how I m going to link WWF from my homepage.. i mean what url will be linked to "forum" button I have placed on homepage..

BTW.. plz tell me is it really easy to upload WWF.. or I m going to get more confused when I will start doing it.. I tried to read installation guidelines many times.. but I guess I will understand it when I will actually start uploading it..

Can u guide me beforehand.. as after one hour I m leaving for my office to upload this forum.

thanks for all the help..

The usernames and passwords your host has given you are proberly for your MSSQL database, your FTP and something else i can't think of.

Have they told exactly which usernames and passwords do what?

Uploading is easy, you just use your FTP software to connect to your FTP server using a username and password and transfer the whole forum folder over in one go.

Yes .. he gave me 3 different set of User name and passwords.. for

ftp server :
mail server :
mssql server :

OK.. i will do as u have told me.. thanks a lot..

It's good I asked here first.. cause I assumed that since it's about forum and database... hehehe.. I was going to upload WWF on my MS Sql folder... LOL

Now I m only worried about whatever instructions Bruce has given... cause I didn't understand a thing in following points..  and there is no one in my office whom I can ask... I guess today I m going to be here for all day long.. LOL

  1. Create a database on the SQL Server or use an excising one.
  2. Edit the file 'SQL_server_connection.asp' found in the admin directory entering your SQL Server name, your SQL Server Authentication details, and the name of the empty database you have created for the Forum on the SQL Server.
  3. Run the file 'msSQL_server_setup.asp' found in the main folder of the Forum in your web browser. This file will create all the tables, relations, and default values in the empty database you have created on the SQL Server. It is highly recommend for security purposes that you delete this file from the Web Server once the database is fully created.
  4. The Forum database should now be created and you can now use the Forum.
I will ask about above things once I will go to office..

thanks for all ur help.

Mikey... thanks for ur concern...

but dear... after going to office I came to know that we didn't have enough webspace...

so we had to inform our service provider to increase webspace for us.. that's why that day I could't install WWF on my site..

I hope to do it soon though..

thanks again..

:)
