Dear friends,

I get a javascript error on this line:

body onload="initialiseWebWizRTE();" --> Line 1 : Object Expected

  -->   I press the 'not to debug' button ...      and it works !!  very well !!

But this error is very undesirable    client side

Please, does anyone know how to solve the problem ?

Thank you very much in advance for your help

If you use Firefox's javascript console, built into firefox, it will tell you exactly the problem rather than IE's shockingly bad javascript debugger that gives totally confusing error messages.

dear boRg, the error results in (jas console):

'initialiseWebWizRTE is not defined'

but it hides the error whereas IE prompts me for debugging
however it detects the error too.

I'm using a RTE version adapted to manage not only message insertion but also modification of the text captured from db. The strange thing is that it does work ... maybe the function must not be called from onload, maybe it cannot find some objects ... I also tried to call the function below but the error always occurs ....

Any idea ?

You could try moving the call to the RTE_javascript.asp file from the include to the head of the page the RTE is within.

Hopefully this will stop the error as the initialiseWebWizRTE function is within this file and maybe something to do with your setup means that this file with the function isn't loaded before the onLoad event is called.

dear boRg,
I think to have solved the problem: I removed the call to that function at all! I presume that this RTE version does not need it any more because it doesn't use the textarea as RTE normally does but iframes where to put the content in. ....
Thank you very much for your help
Bye
