Hi.

I am wondering if it is possible to restrict moderator's permissions to be able only to approve posts and nothing else. So. Moderator (or certain forum member) could approve posts but would not have permission to use other moderator's functions.

I'm afraid not, if you give a user moderator permissions they will have permission to carry out all moderator tasks.

I want to give someone only permission to approve posts and nothing else. Only that function. Is that possible?

This would have to be a mod.  You might ask in the modifications forum if you haven't done so already.

Also, a person is not really a moderator if all they can do is approve posts.  A moderator is a mini-Administrator who helps the Administrator administer the forums.

I'm not sure what you would call the person you described, but moderator would be an inappropriate title for that person.

I realize, that this person is not moderator with all functions normal moderator has, but approving post is one of the functions for moderating the forum. You can call this person "approval assistant" or "approval moderator" and his job would be only to approve posts. This could be useful if you want to let someone to approve other posts, but prevent him from editing posts etc. in case you have confidence in this person for approving post, but you don't want to give him "full moderating power".

Maybe someone should write mod for this or even better - mod to set moderator's permissions more detailed.

I am very consern about this. Is there something in the code of the forum, to change, and moderators can no longer have permision to edit profiles, and things like that.
Come on Borg, tell us! PLEASE!

You will need to ask someone if they can modify the forum for you if you can not do it yourself.

Sorry, I don't have the time to make the modifications for you.
