OK....firstly let me say great work borg on v8.01....I did the upgrade from v7.8 without a problem and the new features are great....
However I'm having a problem with the pic uploads....I've searched the forum on this and it appears others are having an issue with the 'temp' directory and the dreaded 'x' - pic not found etc etc....
I've also seen your response that the pic directory should be a sub directory of the forum......well thats a problem.
In v7.8 my upload directory was ../pics ie the root directory of my site and all worked well......if I move that directory to inside the forum directory then all the links to existing pics will be broken.
Is there any more info on a fix or is 'move the pics folder' the only response.....and canothers confirm that it will work?

It appears that the upload script is uploading to a temp directory even if the user is a member - here's the url of the pic it can't find...
pics/temp/20060511_221732_AUT_0001_Small.JPG
if I take out the temp and refresh - the pic is there on the server.

I am still looking into this issue.
However, if you leave your pics folder where it is for backward compatibility, then create a new pic folder as a sub folder of the forum for all new upload images.

righto.....so even if I change the pics folder location in admin it won't affect previous uploads to a different directory? I will do so......

No, it won't effect previous uploads if you make a new upload folder, keeping the old folder and contents where it is.
