Hi

I am using the RTE in combination with a database.
I save all the generated html code in a database.

After the code is saved and I reopen it in the RTE I get some strange symbols.

For example:
HTML-code: "   "

Gives me:
Text: "    "
HTML: "   "

It must be something with the reformatting of the html code I guess…

If someone knows how to get rid of these strange symbols?  It would be very helpful! Wink

It could be the page encoding.

Try changing the page encoding in the head of the HTML page containing the RTE area to a locale that supports your character set

You need to place in to the head of the page the URL encoding that you use for your character set.

This way your web browser will correctly encode the text before submitting it to the server.

Thanks!

I changed the character set from the browser_page_encoding_inc.asp to UTF standard.
Now it's working fine!

I wish mine was so easy.   When I changed to UTF standard, it broke during the initial save.   Changed it back, and it saved the first time, but added characters during the first edit.

:(

But it looks like I'm getting close.

I have the same problem, and the encoding is ok, why change if in the source code I write á when I return to the other view, change that for á and if I return to the html source it have á and no more á
