Re:  Version 8.01.

1.  When a person posts a message in the forum and click the notify of reply, they get a reply.

As admin I have the email notification for that forum turned on and I don't get notified of new posts.

2.  When logged in as admin, I don't have a logoff button at the top, I have to click on the kill cookie link at the bottom of the page.

3.  Admin is not being notified of new registrations (email or otherwise) even when admin approve new members is turned on.  It would be nice to have a link to "pending new approvals" at the top when a new member registers and an admin/moderator logs in to the forum.

4.  As reported before, the upload images does not work for Persists ASPUpload or Smart ASPUpload.  The embeded link option in the upload image area does work.

5.  As admin when logged in, the register button when pressed takes you to the add a new member but your login name is the name of the new registrant.

that's it for now..

Most of these problems you mention should never happen and have been tested many times (except for no.4 which is a know issue).

The only thing I can think is that you have modified your forum or you have corrupted files.

As to your email problems, if other users are getting emails then it sounds like for whatever reason your SMTP server for your email is bouncing back the emails or rejecting them.

The register button should never appear when you are logged in, again sounds like a modification of corrupted file.

You where right (of course).  I did port the system over from Snitz to WWF version 7.  Then I converted from version 7 to version 8.  When I did that, I forgot to notice that the tblAuthors was re-numbered.

The problem I ran into of course was guess what Author_ID was issued to the admin account... 2!!!!!!!!!!  My problem was solved once I changed away from 2 to another number and put the Guest account back to where it was hard coded to be. Embarrassed

For those wanting to change over from Snitz to WWF 8....  Caution is well advised when you re-number your user table before doing your import.
