After upgrading from version 7.8 to 8.1 users can not post new topics or post replies because the box that one would type the message into is missing. This applies across the board from new users to administrators. The database transfer seems to have gone flawlessly and I love all the new features but am going to have to fall back on our old setup until this is resolved. Any ideas on what I am missing?

This sounds like you may have a corrupted file, try re-uploading all the files again to the server.
