Hello all,

I downloaded your forums and went to install / play with the installation.  I installed it on my test box (2k3 SP1 Windows server).  The test box is also running SQL 2005 ent.  I have the site setup through IIS and that works np there...but when i go to excute the msSQL_server_setup.asp file...I enter the SQL account that has full control for that database and give a password ...then i get the following:

Error entering default values in the Table tblGroup
INSERT permission denied on object 'tblGroup', database 'mh_forum', schema 'dbo'.

Error entering default values in the Table tblAuthor
INSERT permission denied on object 'tblAuthor', database 'mh_forum', schema 'dbo'.

Error entering default values in the Table tblConfiguration
INSERT permission denied on object 'tblConfiguration', database 'mh_forum', schema 'dbo'.

Error entering default values in the Table tblDateTimeFormat
INSERT permission denied on object 'tblDateTimeFormat', database 'mh_forum', schema 'dbo'.

Error entering default values in the Table tblSmut
INSERT permission denied on object 'tblSmut', database 'mh_forum', schema 'dbo'.
INSERT permission denied on object 'tblSmut', database 'mh_forum', schema 'dbo'.
SQL Server database is set up, but with Error!

any ideas?

This is a permissions problem on the SQL Server.

The login details you are using to log into the SQL Server do not have permission to INSERT (write) data into the database.

You will need to delete the database and start again, this time making sure the login details you use also have permission to write data into the newly formed database.

db_denydatareader and db_denydatawriter were checked in the perimssions on the sql 2005 server.  these take precedence over the other settings.

lol..just a little checking on my part and NP got it working....and running great

thanks
