I see the in the download section that a conversion is needed from 7.x to 8.x. I was wondering if this has to be done online?  Can this be run on your system (off-line) first then upload the database (Access).

The reason I ask is, I setup a duplicate forum for testing and would like to see how much customization I will loose on the conversion.  The test site is setup but the database is the empty one that come the forum.  Would like to convert db then upload it to see what problems I'm head for.Shocked LOL Confused

Any input on from people who converted would greatly be appreciated.

At present I'm running 7.9  http://www.mbd2.com/forum - http://www.mbd2.com/forum

Reading the instruction it sounds like you have to be online... Step 7

Submit the form to the web server to start the update process. Once the
update process is started DO NOT HIT REFERSH. As each stage of the update process is executed you will be informed. Some of these stages may take sometime so please be patient.

I'm I misundestanding the directions?
