I have a "big forum" with 2500 members and 30.000 posts using vbulletin an mysql. I would like to switch to WWF because the rest of my site is in ASP language.

Off course i don't want to lose all the messages and registrations. ¿There is any conversion utility?

Another question, what's are the access DB limits for a WWF big forum, when should i need a MSSQL DB ?

Thanks you very much Smile

There are no covertions utilities beween vBulletin and Web Wiz Forums.

I have heard of people using the forum with 50Mb Access databases, but at this size performance will depend on how good the web server is and what sort of load there is on it. I have heard of some web hosts shutting down sites when Access databases get up to 9Mb becuase of the amount of strain this would put on the web server, as Access is a flat file database, each time data is required from the database the entire file needs to be opened and loaded into memory.

If you think your site will be busy and have allot of posts and users then SQL Server would be much better at handling this and also perform better.

Is it possible to move a SQL db to a different server?  If so how would that be done?

Hi Guys,

I have just been asked to bring an existing vBulletin forum with a few hundred members and a few thousand posts across to a new site using Web Wiz, so I was wondering if the situation described above has changed?  Is it possible to convert from vBulletin to WebWiz Forums these days??  From what I can tell the existing vBulletin system is using MySQL.

Any help and comments would be much appreciated!

Many thanks

Mark
