Is there a setting that allows users to decide whether or not they want to be displayed in "Active Users"? In otherwords, can they be logged in, but not shown as being online.

Yes, when the user logs in there is a check box, that when checked, will mean users are not included in the active users list and will be shown as Annoymous.

Thanks. One of my forum members (a lawyer) pointed out that even when he opts to be not included in the active users, if he goes to a topic where he has posted, it shows him as being "online" vs. offline. I don't know why this guy would care, but he called it a loophole, which I guess technically, it is.

The actual feature is 'Add me to active users list' when logging-in

The reason why the text says this is I tried both ways, I did have it as 'Browse the board annoymously' and when selected the user was shown as off-line as well as being anonymous in the active users list. People then complained it was a bug and demanded that the user be shown as on-line.

The feature was then changed to 'Add me to active users list' so they are still shown as on-line but they are listed in the active users list as Anonymous.

I would have thought your member being a lawyer would be well used to 'reading between the lines' when it comes to wording Wink

True.  Technically it says nothing about being anonymous.
