I've got two copies of the latest version of Web Wiz forums, one for development and one licensed that will be the production copy. They're on different servers, both running MySQL.
I'm getting the same error with both. User logs in and sees the "Private Messanger" link, but clicking that produces an error:
Microsoft VBScript runtime error '800a01f4'
Variable is undefined: 'intNumOfNewPM' /pm_welcome.asp, line 84 That same error is produced from all the links to the pm_welcome.asp file, otherwise the PM system seems OK. Any ideas?

Sounds like you may have a modified file or a corrupted file. Being homepage-specific, I've moved the pm_check_inc.asp file into what is now a somewhat re-designed default.asp file. Given that code is largely unchanged, I'm guessing it's an ordering issue, ie. Dim intNumOfNewPM has to come earlier in the routine?
The critical part of the code could go back into navigation_buttons_inc.asp if that's the case.

Scratch that last message, I shuffled the Dim intNumOfNewPM lines back into the navigation_buttons_inc.asp file and that's fixed it, previously the connection was being closed before the include.

I have changed the variable name in pm_welcome.asp for the latest version so that others don't have this issue when modifying the pages.
