Greetings all,
I just did the update to version 8.03 today. I did a few test posts and everything seems OK - that is until I responded with a quick post...
I replied to a message with the quick post feature. Since then, my user cannot see any forum topics. In fact, the Forum Statistics looks very strange:
Our users have posted 0 Posts in 0 Topics in 0 Forum(s) Last Post; 30 December 1899 at 12:00am By We have 77 Forum Members The Newest Forum Member is (name removed)
When I log that user out and log in as another user, everything seems fine.
Here is what I see when I add a new member (in otherwords, what it should look like):
Our users have posted 175 Posts in 56 Topics in 15 Forum(s) Last Post; Today at 3:06pm By http://astronomyonline.org/Members/forum/member_profile.asp?PF=62 - RickMurphy We have 78 Forum Members The Newest Forum Member is http://astronomyonline.org/Members/forum/member_profile.asp?PF=81 - thai
That last post was by me, the quick post - which does show just fine.
Any ideas?

This sounds very odd, I would think that this is coursed either by the database upgrade going wrong, or a corrupted file.
Go back to your original 7.x database and do the upgrade process again, also reupload the files to the server again, incase you have a corrupted file.
Please also note, that once the database is upgraded to version 8 do NOT attempt to run the database with version 7 of web wiz forums or it will screw up the forum and make posts not appear correctly or a all.

I managed to fix it by changing the moderator functions - changing it to admin group - non ladder. It was a member of the admin/moderator group but I no longer see that on the pull down list. Perhaps that was a version 7.x option only?

There is still a moderator group in version 8.
If not you can always create one and set moderator permissions on which ever forum you like for that group.
