When making a reply to a existing post or posting a new topic, the time it takes is excetionally long, i.e., 30-60 seconds.

Topics have been cleaned but it is still taking a long time. Any recommendations?

For it to take this length of time it will be an email issue.

When you make a post email notifications will be sent out, if there is a delay in connecting to the SMTP server due to overloaded SMTP server, slow network, etc. you will see delays like you mention.

To speed things up see if you can use a localhost SMTP server to send out emails.
