I am having a number of new users and old users that are having problems getting the link in the activation email to work. It is giving the cannot find server error in IE. But the link does work in firefox. Any ideas?

Tested on:
Windows XP Pro SP2
IE 6.0.2900.2180
Firefox 1.504

Thanks
Russ

Make sure that the path to your forum setout in the admin area is correct and you don't have to many / in it.

Also, make sure it is a file not found in IE, and not a 500 internal server error. If it is a 500 internal server error, turn off friendly error messages in IE so you get an accurate error message which will tell us what the problem is.

I can't see anything wrong, the links you gave work fine in IE.

Breaks with a dns error in IE for me.
If you look at the link you gave, there's no TLD - .com or .net etc.
Firefox will append a .com if it's missing. IE will error.

That will explain why it worked for me, I copied the address from Firefox into IE, I didn't even notice the .com part was missing.
