Should I create a subfolder under forum_images for the new skin images or backup the old ones and use the default folder?

This is my first time changing the skins ..

I have a skins folder. One of the sub folders in there is skins/default which contains skins/default/forum_images and skins/default/css_styles folder. In the admin sections, I point to those folders for images and skins.

For additional skins, I copy skins/default to another folder under skins (e.g. skins/newskin) and make changes there.
Lets me have several skins available and only needs a change to the images and css folders location in the admin section to switch between them.

I copy all of the default skin folder in to start from just in case I miss some gif/jpg and also to pick up the other css files - e.g. the one for print, etc.

The skin contest just ended so I'd expect Borg to be releasing an update to wwf that will have a skin changer. If you're not in a hurry, yo might want to wait to see how the skins need to be organized for the skin changer. However, I don't imagine it would be too difficult to move an existing skin set up in the skin changer.
