Hello, I want to lock registration so that anyone joining MUST email me and I must set them up.

I locked the registration and now get the error that registration is locked, please check back.  (or close to that).

I want to change it to something like
"Registration is locked, please email admin at .....@.... to register"

How can I do that??  Thank you

Make sure that all forum support questions get posted in the support forum and not in the Modifications forum...

You need to unlock the registeration system and allow members to register normally. Then you can set the membership activation feature so that the administrator is needed to activate new accounts.

To do that, login as admin and then go to the admin area and scroll down... on the left side you'll see General Admin, click on the link titled Email Configuration Setup, scroll down and set to on, the option titled 'Administrator Member Activation'
Once done, new members accounts status will be Not Active, until you [administrator] activate them.

P.S. You [the administrator] will be notified by email when a new member registers, with a link to activate that new account. In order for such feature to work, a mail compnent must be installed on the server such as CDONTS. CDOSYS, JMail, etc...

Sorry, I thought I wanted to modify something.  :s

I think I have everything set correctly now, but for the "forum email" I can use my personal email right?

Thank you.

Yes, you sure can.

Go ahead and test it, register a test username and see if an email will be sent to the admin informing him that a new member has joined the forum and that he needs to activate that new member's account.

*duh* I never thought to do a test one.  I have contacted people who I know are wanting to register and told them to go try.  I was waiting for them.

Thanks, I'll go test it now.
