I have spent quite a few "extra" brain cells on writing classes for classic ASP. I find them most interesting and efficient. Apparently, simple classes are the segue to ASP.NET in that it seems they are used heavily in the framework.

I've been working on a new CMS and trying to create as many classes as possible but for some reason, the logic has not solidified in my mind. Have any of you done any cool stuff with classes in ASP classic? Do you know of a good resource for learning the basic concept of classes? I would be most interested in your thoughts.

The coolest Class Library I have seen in ASP is http://www.codeproject.com/asp/ClassicAspFW.asp - here though you cannot 100% mimmick what is doable in asp.net

wow that is cool! I didnt even think to look for a ASP class that can do ASP.Net stuff, great find!

Anyone use it?

To bad we still cant create custom .dll's and use them in classic asp without having to register them :(

Another event -driven Classic ASP Framework that's similar but diferent is CLASP 2.0 which does .net server-side controls, postbacks, etc. Heavily into AJAX:

CLASP is also compatible withe the Intorel Compiler - http://www.intorel.com/ - It's not a dll maker. It creates stand-alone exe's of asp, .net, and php apps that can be distributed on, and run from CD with db support.

Lead me not into temptation... I know the short cut, follow me.

Thanks DP... it's heavier in JavaScript than I am comfortable with but there are some OUTSTANDING examples.
