I am running the latest Web Wiz Forums and often time when posters post a message, they get this error:
Server Error in Forum Application
An error has occured while sending an email.
Please contact the forum administrator.
Support Error Code:- err_SQLServer_send_mail_footer
File Name:- functions_send_mail.asp
Error details:-
CDO.Message.1
The transport failed to connect to the server.
The posts still goes through, but I can't figure out why this message is coming up. Can anyone help me?

The forum is trying to send out an email notification of the post, but the SMTP server specified in the admin area can not be connected to at that time.
Contact your web host to get the correct details for the SMTP server you need to use for your hosting account.

My smtp information is correct and hasn't changed since I've upgraded. I will check and see if it is with the actual component used to send out emails. But I am using the standard CDOSYS component which is fully supported on my server.

This error is from the component 'The transport failed to connect to the server' and means almost exactly what it says, that it can not connect to the SMTP server at that moment in time.
It could be that the network to the SMTP server is down or the SMTP server itself is down at the moment in time.
If you can use a locahost SMTP server as it works much faster and should avoid these types of errors as it should only be down if the whole web server is down.
