Double clicking the location in Google maps and then hitting the 'link to this page' link and copying the url from the address bar. is the way i do it.
The last bunch of numbers in the URL are the locations code.

Anyother ways i found of doing this cost alot, or were US only services, i'm based in the UK so tthis was pretty useless.

Try looking through the Yahoo maps API documentation as i think there is a tool available there.

I was able to make the Yahoo API work great!! Was able to get the zip+4 and longlat from a street address... took a little work but worked okay. I wrote a script for 5000 (max for api) and was able to capture a load of information as well as validate the address spelling.

I must have a go off the Yahoo API, any helpful links lads? Used to google maps, have it all set up bar the geocoder. Using it for property addresses in Ireland so hope I will find it as helpful.

Before going to too much trouble, use the samples in the api area to see if they even have Irish addresses... I didn't even think of that. Sorry.

This is a great tool that uses AJAX and the Yahoo API.

has anyone had any progress with this?  I have added the Address, City, and State fields to my forums registration but I can't seem to geocode them automatically.  Any help on this would be great!
