i cant login to my site when i go to the site through the http://www.domain.com - www.domain.com but i can login through domain.com what is the reason and what is the solution.

i cant upgrade to new version right now so please help me solving this problem.

my forum is on root... its not in any other directly.. it comes when you type the domain straight away.

This will be to do with the way your web host has setup your site on the server.

They are probably using domain forwarding rather than correctly using DNS forwarding zones.

before one year i think i faced this problem so you told me that i have to place www in some file or have to make changes in some file can you tell me ... coz in hosting everything is fine...

the only problem is in the forum which you can solve it. plz let me know.

i am writing my problem again that...

when i goto my site with WWW as a admin it doesnt let me login. but when i goto my domain directly without www. then it works ..... so plz tell me what to do.

You would need to put www into the forward look zone on the DNS server pointing to the IP address of the site, if you use a shared IP address you will also need to include a host header under IIS for the site.

But all this is something that your web host needs to do the the server and shouldn't be messed with unless you know Windows server well.

i have another easy idea.... if you can help me....

mydomain.com/default.asp is working right

http:// - www.mydomain.com/default.asp is not working

so now if i put some code on default.asp that if the domain in address bar is without www. then ok else forward it to without www. domain

is it possible ? if yes can u give me the code to be placed in default.asp

it is possible but all you need ot do is add a dns record for www to point to the server... as borg said.

you can usually add custom dns records and some have it automaticlly set to use *.domain.com that allows you to send users to the main site what ever is entered unless its a user defuined A Record
