-Borg- does it invalidate the EULA if someone were to release their copy of WWF in modded format? Now, I don't mean I release Jeff's Forums v1.0, I mean I release WWF with the following MOD's and skins already in place?
Is that OK?

Sorry redistribution of Web Wiz Forums is not allowed, whether modified or not.
I have learnt from past experience that even allowing modified versions of other languages to be released by others is a bad idea. The biggest problem is that it branches the development path, and the people making the modified version are very enthusiastic, for the first 6 months to a year, but with little or no money in it and the amount of time it takes up development eventually stops and people who are using the modified versions are stuck with old and often insecure versions they can not upgrade.

OK, just checking. I've had requests for my the files that are included in my MODs, and I don't often share them files, just the changes, because the files are so heavily modded. I thought i'd be easier just to give them a zip or a rar of my forums.

How about if you use a disclaimer somewhere that states that if you receive a modded forum, it voids any support and future upgrade tools by WebWiz and to use at their own risk?

In a perfect world something like that would work but people neiter read disclaimers nor do they care if you try to enforce them.
There were plenty of cases on this board where members got very upset if Borg denied help because they were using mods etc. he does not support.
If one were to release a "modded forum" it is almost inevitable that current functionality will be altered and at that point there is an alternate development path that will be hard to synchronize with a new version.

I've been reading DotNetNukes book and they had exactly the same situation where a splinter group released a modded version, lots of people moved over because they like the new features, but the development path didn't last long, leaving lots of users stuck with a version they couldn't do anything with.
They now have a very strict policy to prevent this type of thing happening again.
No matter how many times you tell people once development of the splinter version stops or a new version of the main forum comes out angry people will always come back to the original developer (myself) wanting them to fix the mess.
