I think that you need .. install the SMTP service of IIS on Windows NT 4 with Option Pack or Windows 2000 or Windows XP

You can download the CDONTS (or CDOSYS) component from http://www.maddogs-asp.com - http://www.maddogs-asp.com  I don't know if that will fix your problem but its worth a try

OK - we're getting somewhere!

Windows XP (assuming you have XP Pro, as XP Home doesn't have a web server) doesn't have the CDONTS component. CDONTS is an old, outdated component that was only even included in Windows 2000 for backward compatibility.

CDOSYS is the component you need to use in Windows XP. You need to change your code to conform to this component which is not overly hard to do.

If you search google for CDOSYS ASP you'll find heaps of articles on how to do this.

That said, you *can* install CDONTS on XP if you wish however you're really taking a step backward.

Cheers,
Andrew

thanks bunce, it's working,

have another question, how can I limit the file size of the mail, coz it reach 1k even it has a small sentence included in the mail, I want it to be 500 to 900 bytes only, can I set the size or can't?

Yep.

If you open up the IIS Administrator, and right click on the SMTP server (which is what sends the mail out), on the messages tab, there are size limits.

Cheers,
Andrew
