Borg,

I know this is a bit of a stretch, but if I am unable to get Pablo to help in getting Web Wiz Forum to work with QnE, would you be willing to code a version of QnE that works within the functional range of QnE?

Perhaps it will mutually help boost sales or something?

I'm just pondering things "outside of the box".

I just don't see the market for it.
Most people with XP Home would use their web host for development. You can get web hosting for a couple of domains/sub domains for the price of a fast food lunch per month. No need to use your local pc for development.

Well that's a broad assumption. Not everyone would be willing to pay up front for a 1 year agreement to host it with an outsourced hosting company without knowing if they will get a lot of hits. Most would usually do this after the volume of hits justify it.

Besides, broadband speeds are now fast enough to allow hosting at home at least for the short term.

There doesn't always need to be a demand before a product is made. Sometimes the product becomes so popular, it creates a demand. That's how Apache got so popular in the consumer as well as commercial sectors, because linux was free, and it apache available with all Linux distributions.

It wouldn't hurt to test the waters for proof of concept and drawing conclusions from that.

Don't then, find a host that's pretty cheap (I used to use one that was $3 per month) and no contract

The 100's of development hours that this project would eat up trying to do workarounds to get web wiz forums to work in Palo and the extra support required for the new code base couldn't be justified, just to save a few people the cost of a big mac meal each month.

I think the time and resources would be better used developing new features for the present code base and the majority of users or looking at developing a version for ChilliAsp as this has a much wider user base as allot of Linux web hosts have this installed as standard.
