Hello,

Hopefully someone can help here.

When viewing a message on the forum, the quick reply box takes focus which means the page always jumps to the bottom of the page.

The forum is version 8.04, how do I stop this happening short of disabling the quick reply box?

I would also like to display the main reply editor which I do not have a problem implementing, the problem is this box getting focus after it has loaded.

Any ideas?

Thanks

Chris Storey

Never seen this in any browser I've tested with, are you sure this isn't some setting in your browser that makes the reply box take focus?

However, after you post a message you are taken to the message you have just posted using an anchor link which will jump you straight to that post, you maybe confusing this with the reply box taking focus.

(off topic)

I like this feature very much. So much so that I wish it worked when replying with a quote or editing an existing post as well as when posting a quick reply. Apparently that either slipped through the cracks or was never considered.

I was also thinking about the "upsizing" feature. This being where you start your reply in the quick reply block but decide you want the full editor and are allowed to submit what you've started to the new_reply_form.asp.

Just some thoughts.

I have this in my header which would be just after <body> - with it the RTE gets focus and without it everything behaves normally.

Strange or what! Any ideas why this would occur?

Just glad I found the solution Smile
