I downloaded and bought the key this morning but I noticed that after upgrating to the new version, my RTE box is not normal.

Its funcionality if drastically reduced.

This one here is much better, for example... how to sort that out?

Please can you give more details.

In what way is the RTE not functional?
What version did you upgrade from?
Have you enabled the RTE in the forum admin and in your own forum profile?

By the way, this is happening only with IE7. However, as I post this message, it does not happen in this forum.

My RTE has a "Promtp Mode" option, but I've not figured how to turn it off... I'll do a search here now...

By that, I suppose you mean to switch on "WYSIWYG". Yes, they're on.

It is working fine in other browsers, but not in IE7. However, here (your forum) it works fine when I use IE7, but in my forum it is not...

under what circunstances woulrd "Prompt mode" and "Basic Mode" be shown?

When I insert an emoticon, for example, I get its character code like [:Y].

I think it is configuration somewhere in IE7, as it works fine in other places... what I don't undestand is why yours appear fine...

When IE7 beta 1 came out it had a re-draw bug with it's RTE API, so to prevent issues Web Wiz Forums disabled the RTE if using IE7, however Microsoft fixed this re-draw bug, so in later versions of Web Wiz Forums the RTE was enabled for IE7 users.

Make sure you are running the latest version of Web Wiz Forums as this should fix the issue.

That's weird, as the version I am using is the one I downloaded this morning. Unhappy

Thanks. Thumbs%20Up

Just to advice that I sorted out... I always leave my FTP manager to overwrite files automatically. My brother changed the setting to skip files... So, when i thought I was uploading and overwriting with the new files I was not.

My apologies for the unnecessary trouble... Cry I did not think of checking that in the first place...
