I don't know if Yahoo offers Widgets for website on yahoo but I have tried with Google Gadgets www.google.com/ig. All we need is to signin to Google Gadgets, make our own personalize home page and then add Gadgets from the Google Gallery.
I want to know that how can we use Gadgets like on Google in our own asp pages?

I am sure it is doable in asp but you might want to save your strength for something else and look at asp.net. There you can create so-called webparts which are essentially widgets once you plug the right info into it. Webparts allow minimize, close, drag-and-drop etc. If you need to stay away from asp.net for now I guess those widgets are just layers utilizing bunches of AJAX.

Thank you. I am not specifically interested  in doing it  in asp.net  neither require drag and drop facility. My focus is just to swap top contents from websites in different categories like Sports, Technology, and education etc. as Gadgets normally do.

It sounds like you want them to select between rss feeds and set a cookie for the ones they choose to display.

Mainly I am interested in displaying the top contents from different websites like cnn.com. As Google Gadget is available for cnn.com and it displays top news on Google personalized page. Similarly many other gadgets are available. Similarly I want to display top contents from different websites on my page so that my visitors can have variety of information on my website. I hope that I have explained it as I desire.

Are you talking about displaying the rss feeds from these sites?

Frankly speaking I don't know if these are RSS feeds or what. But I want to display contents from these websites on my web page as Gadgets do.

Gadgets use RSS feeds. For example, if you click on one of the headlines, you get taken to a site that offers an rss feed - usually on their home page - e.g. http://www.cnn.com/services/rss/ - http://www.cnn.com/services/rss/
 or http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/services/rss/ - http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/services/rss/

Feeds usually require some formatting to fit nicely within a site - either css or xslt. Once you have a library of feed retrieval and formatting, it's just a matter of setting a user preference cookie to determine which one is displayed.

A library of feeds is just the collection of feeds that your page supports - ones you've set up to be retrieved and formatted for the page.
