straight out of the box i test the Captcha application with the example.asp file and when i enter the image code it says that i entered "incorrectly".

whether i enter the right one or a false one it always says that it is incorrect.

i have cookies enable and tried it on ie and firefox.

it appears that something is wrong with the way my windows server is setup. I use 3rd party (EDThosting.com) and thus do not have access to the server, only ftp.

since borg. you wrote the captcha and understand server side, do you know what could be happening here? what my server is doing to not allow the captcha to work.

thanks

it sounds like a corrupt file

does your host allow binary read, are they a free host?

also it maybe the server is resetting the sesions, i belive the entered value (required) is stored in a session vereable on te server, therefore if the server resets the verable it wont exist and thus wrong.

also it works for a number of other users that have downloaded the application

i have 2 websites, one at EDThosting.com and one at Godaddy.com

it cant be a corrupt file because i took the captcha application and and put it on both websites at their respective hosting. the captcha worked on Godaddy server but not on the EDThosting server.

here is what the admin from EDThosting told me in a email.
You may want to check the product documentation to see
what the requirements are for the session management. the
server is a standard default installation, and sessions
are working perfectly for our other clients on the same
server

are they running W2K3 SP1

because there is a known issue within W2k3 that asp drops sessions, because of the way it runs
