i belive WWF uses the jet engine which is better than the access default one.

out of memory looks like a Over loaded server.

or sites using alot of ram/memory.

if you edit the database/database_connection.asp file you can change the Aceess JET Driver.

also if possible change from access to My OR MS SQL servers

without changing DB is there a different connection string that could be used even if NOT DNS-less ?

there is a different driver access default in the file you can use, but is not as stable as JET 4

Thought you guys might like to read this artical from MS there are known bugs with the forum based on the SQL strings.. I got this from my host who has been trying to help with the error I get from time to time..

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/174634 - http://support.microsoft.com/kb/174634

Possible cause of the error. Both forums have quite large SQL statements in them (over 10 lines), so using some of the methods described in this support article may help resolve the issue you’re seeing on Windows Server 2003.

Got to say that your web host is trying to pull the wool over your eyes here.

Over 400,000 people have downloaded the Access version over the years and the only time that this error has ever occurred is when the user has been using a server which is overloaded.

As the page in question doesn't use an SQL query that is over 10 lines, more like 3 lines, however, it does use several joins which require more memory than a standard SQL query, without it the forum will not run. This should never be an issue unless you are on a very overloaded server that has no memory left for processing.

I would suggest switching web hosts as your web host doesn't sound very good maximising profit at the expense of users by overloading their web servers.

Here is the lastest. My host has now found out what the problem is They believe is lies with the DB connection some where in the code there is a SQL query that do not close the connection properly can you confirm this at all ?

All the db connections are closed in the released version - or else the high-volume access sites would be crashing all over the place. YMMV if you've added some mods to the base code.

One of the problems with access in a shared hosting environment is that failure to close connections on another web site may cause your access site to crash.

I can also confirm that the vanilla code of WWF does close all DB connections.
