Hi, I have the JMail component installed on the server. I use it for other applications on my website and it works just fine. It also works on the forum when new members register and have an email sent to them about their membership. I too, rec'v an email to activate their membership upon their joining...
I tested it at the same time the error below occured.

When I send this one member a Private Message, I get this error... I know he would still get my PM but when end users see this error they would think that their PM to this member has failed to be sent.

The error details tell you the problem.... "Server.CreateObject Access Error~The call to Server.CreateObject failed while checking permissions. Access is denied to this object.". Contact your host.

If it's only happening when PM'ing one particular member are there any special characters in their user name or email address?

dpyers, read the error message. It has nothing to do with a bad email address.

MadDog, I forgot to mention that I am the host myself. I have my own dedicated server and that forum runs on it.

dpyers, this member has set in his profile references so that he gets notified by email when someone sends him a PM. So when I tried PM'ing him I kept getting that error. So basically you'd get that error message when you PM anyone that set his/her preferences to rec'v email when a PM is sent to them.

I also use that JMail component for a 'contact us' form on my site and works perfectly.

I think it's a permission issue... else why would it work for othe forms I use on my site but not for the forum? the error message itself suggests that it is a permission issue...

but i'm wondering which folder or file should I permit and what type of permission??
