After just setting up as a web development company, I am wondering what account packages to such use. I imagine nothing too sophisticated is required, just something for quotes, invoices and receipts, be able to keep track of income and expenditure, calculate TAX etc. Any recommendations for me for a package that would suit me? Something open source would be great as expenditure is tight starting off!

Microsoft just came out with their Office 2007 Small Business Accounting Express for free. It's quite decent and has ebay, paypal etc. plugins.

Had a look at this, seems perfect, only that its available in the US only: http://www.ideawins.com/faq.html#q34 - http://www.ideawins.com/faq.html#q34

Being based in Europe it doesnt quite tick the box for me, for this reason only. Thanks michael

Check the site of whoever makes your control panel. There'll usually be some discussion about integrating billing and accounting products.

Does anyone have any feedback on getting "locked in" to the Office 2007 Small Business Accounting Express? In other words, in QB trying to extract or work with your data is like pulling eye-teeth.
