Normally I use FF, but today I was using IE7. Using the admin button here is the result of the popup window.

The window is sized incorrectly for the information. Note that the Submit/Cancel buttons can't be seen. This is kind of a big deal!
This appears to be because of the IE7 "feature" that displays the URL of a new window without the menu/address bar. The new window that pops up needs to be make larger with some wiggle room for issues like this.
The second thing is that the Topic Admin title is messed up.
It is a really bad idea for 8.05 to be the last release. There are clearly some bugs that need to be worked out.

problem 1: eh, i wouldnt class this as a bug becose its just a rendering issue, if you up the text size it would mess up the layout of the forum and course the same issue.
its not a "big deal" since theres a scrollbar - no scroll bar would = a 'big deal'
problem 2: i imagine this is due to the fact the scrollbar is pushing the page over more than its designed to do. again its not a huge problem - and same as above if you up the text size it'll course the same problem.
if these are the ONLY problems you can find wrong with web wiz forum - then you've got some G** D*** stable software in your hands.

Scotty:
Frankly, I don't like your tone of voice. It's not acceptable to post obscenities and your post is entirely inappropriate.
Borg:
Alright, I admit, these aren't big deals. My assessment of 8.05 is a bit premature, but there are certainly more bugs.
Both of these issues should be easy fixes.
My IE7 text size is set at the default. IMHO, the UI should behave properly for: #1) Default IE7 #2) Default IE6 #3) Default Firefox #4) Default Mac Browser ....etc
Also, I consider this a professional forum. Am I wrong in making that assumption?

djlurch. I don't think Scott was in any way obscene nor did he use a bad tone of voice. If you are taking offense to the "GD" word, I hardly doubt he was trying to mean that as a religious obscenity. I truly think he was just trying to help.

Thanks for your post. Regardless of how you feel about it, I was offended by his post.

you know - i read the above posts and it took me awhile to actually get what you was on about.
am sorry if i offended you, as i didn't mean to - these forums tend to be pretty chilled out, and where am from its pretty mild - tbh i wasn't even aware it was offensive.
my post wasnt "inappropriate" as it was a reply to you, stating why it courses it, and stating that in the software world there pritty minor bugs, if classed as bugs at all, and if thats all you can find then clearly the forum is rock solid.
as i said, i still dont see this as a major problem since you can resize the window AND it has a scrollbar - so your still able to click the buttons, its just they are out of sight.
anyway i'll try my best to avoid your posts in future.

Scotty:
Thanks for your apology. You post did come across as mean spirited. It is hard to tell the tone of you post without the non-verbal clues.
You don't have to avoid me at all.

I find that info is hidden in the pop-ups on larger screen resolutions. At 1024x768, they appear fine. It is an annoyance though.

This is NOT a bug and the popup admin page has been designed to behave in this way.
In previous versions the features listed under this pop up admin page remained static for all posts and all forums which meant that the page could be set at a set size with all the features displayed neatly within it.
However, in version 8.05 this pop-up has been completely redesigned and will display many new options within it, but the number of options displayed can change as it depends on the many other thinsg like if events are allowed in the forum etc.
This means the number of options displayed is now dynamic, so to accommodate the changing size of this pop-up page scroll bars have been introduced. This does mean that you may have to scroll to see all the options if they are unable to all fit within the page.

Also for you page to display the way it has in your picture, djlurch, suggests that you have not fully updated your forum correctly.
The title of the page not displaying correctly was a bug in previous versions, which suggests that you have not updated all your forum files with that from the latest version. This may also help sortout your other issues.

I nuked the entire forum folder. Then I installed 8.05. Are there two versions of 8.05?
Maybe you don't consider it a bug, but I do. UI issues can be bugs.

If it is by design then it's not a bug, in this case the page acts like that by design. If it's that bigger deal you could always purchase a license so that you can modify the code and change it to how you like, but you will find it hard as the page is dynamic so you won't know how big the page will be or how many options would be included.

I thought you said it was because my install wasn't current. Were you mistaken?
What multiple options are there?

The error with the title of the page not being correct was a problem with your install.
The new options include being able to change the topic icon if enabled, changing and setting event dates if the forum you are in permits, and a number of others things I don't recall at the present time.

Again, I completely deleted the wwf folder and installed 8.05. How could this be a problem with my install?

I just checked the source code of the admin page. Changing this:
<table width="100%" border="0" cellpadding="3" cellspacing="0" class="tableTopRow" style="table-layout: fixed;">
|
to this:
<table width="100%" border="0" cellpadding="3" cellspacing="0" class="tableTopRow">
|
Fixes the issue of the title not displaying properly.
