Hi there,

nice bit of software so far, I can create new files and open existing ones but I can't seem to be able to overwite them once I've made changes. I get a message saying something like 'Either a file of the same name already exists or an error was found in the file name entered. Page has been saved as 'test41.html' (or something'.

Any ideas what's going wrong?

Any help greatly appreciated, cheers :)

Jim

In RTE_Configuration\RTE_Setup.asp there are a number of configurations which you can change.

Around line 125, you should find this;

Const blnOverWriteFiles = false 'Set this to true only if you wish the user to overwrite saved files

Set this to true to allow file overwritting.

Thanks for the reply Mort :)

After making that change I'm now getting an error messages when I try to save:

Microsoft VBScript runtime error '800a0046'

Permission denied

/ww2/RTE_popup_save_file.asp, line 159

Any clues? Thanks!

Do you have write permission on the folder that you've trying to save the file to?

You may need to ask your host.

I've given the folder write permissions, had a play around this morning and it seems I can overwrite files if I remove the '.html' etc from the file name in the 'File Name' box in the pop-up window. It's fiddly but it looks like it's working...
