Wonder if anyone might be able to point me in the right direction?  I have just uploaded the latest version of WWF onto a new server.  I am using SQL 2005 Express...  It works find until I try to post..

Server Error in Forum Application
An error has occured while writing to the database.
Please contact the forum administrator.

Support Error Code:- err_SQLServer_save_new_post_data
File Name:- new_post.asp

Error details:-
Microsoft OLE DB Provider for SQL Server
Cannot insert the value NULL into column 'Thread_ID', table 'tblThread'; column does not allow nulls. INSERT fails.

I am sure I have given read and write permission to users on the SQL Db?

Seems I can update posts and settings...  I just can't insert?  Any ideas why its not getting the thread_ID?

It looks like you database is not setup correctly.

SQL Server should use an identity seed to automatically create a number for the Thread_ID.

Make sure that the default values for your database have been setup.

Hi Bruce...

Unfortunately this is a long story...  This is a SQLDb thats been exported to access and upsized to SQL Angry...  (Its a long story!)

Where should I look to find what the default values should be??  Thanks

Dam....  It seems the whole thing is playing up

Microsoft OLE DB Provider for SQL Server error '80040e2f'

Cannot insert the value NULL into column 'Forum_ID', table 'tblForum'; column does not allow nulls. INSERT fails.

/forum/admin_forum_details.asp, line 213

Think I had better have a look at the DB in detail... or start again Cry
